Betsy Corcoran

She co-founded and served as CEO of , the central information hub for education technology, until it was acquired by ISTE in 2019. She is also a Fellow with the Pahara-Aspen Education Fellows Program. Before starting EdSurge, Betsy was a nationally recognized technology thought-leader and journalist. She served as Silicon Valley Bureau Chief for Forbes Media, as well as a writer and editor for publications including The Washington Post and Scientific American. Her children are proud graduates of Burlingame HS; she now chairs the board of d-Tech. She began her career as a technology journalist, and first wrote about artificial intelligence in the late 1980s. 

Dr. Kip Glazer

Principal, Mountain View-Los Altos High School District

 is a proud Principal of Mountain View High School. She has been a classroom teacher, a technology coach, and a school administrator for over two decades. She is passionate about connecting researchers and practitioners. She holds a Learning Technologies Doctorate from Pepperdine University, and she has written about Artificial Intelligence, game-based learning, and educational technologies in school settings for many years. Because of her experience and background, she participated in the  hosted by the US Department of Education’s Office of Education Technology at the launch of the official report, “” and a  entitled, "Artificial Intelligence in Practice: Building a Roadmap for AI Use in Schools." She is a and a member of the . 

Nancy Magee

San Mateo County Superintendent of Schools

Nancy Magee has served as an equity and student-centered educator for 40 years. Her educational leadership is grounded in her 20-years as a high school English teacher. After earning her master’s degree in Library and Information Science and administrative credential, she worked as a high school librarian and school district administrator before joining the ºÃÉ«ÏÈÉúTV in 2010. At ºÃÉ«ÏÈÉúTV she has held several roles including Executive Director, Board and Community Support and Associate Superintendent, Student Services before being elected as County Superintendent in 2018.

Superintendent Magee is a founding and current leader of the Coalition for Safe Schools and Communities, a collaborative, multi-agency group focused on safe and positive school and community environments. Among other projects, the Coalition created and supports the Big Five, a countywide emergency protocol for schools, operates a countywide threat assessment program, and developed the Naloxone for Schools Program and Toolkit, which provides schools in the county with training, educational resources, and access to Naloxone (Narcan).

Superintendent Magee also serves as a First 5 Commissioner and is co-chair of the Child Care Partnership Council and a leader of The Big Lift, a countywide initiative that aims to see all students reading by third grade. She advocates for workforce housing as a board member of the Housing Endowment and Regional Trust (HEART), and she provides statewide leadership on environmental literacy and climate education. She enjoys live music, the outdoors, and time with her friends and family, especially her two young granddaughters, Avery and Emmy.

Ken Montgomery

Co-Founder and Executive Director, Design Tech High School

Ken Montgomery is the co-founder and executive director of Design Tech High School, which is located on the Oracle corporate campus in Redwood Shores. Ken completed his PhD in administration and policy analysis at Stanford University. As a teacher, Ken held a variety of positions and won several awards including being named a member of the USA Today All-teacher team, and becoming a National Board Certified teacher. While at Stanford, Ken published several pieces and developed a school leadership course.

Morgan Vien

Co-Founder, Design for Emergence

, CEO & Cofounder of  is a leader, creative visionary, and designer in the social impact space. Using emergent and liberatory practices, she pays close attention to what people need to step into their power and exercise radical imagination in making sustainable change. Morgan is also a designer with the Stanford d.school on the Futures Project and Liberatory Design Faculty at the National Equity Project. Previously, she coached and designed with the Teachers Guild x School Retool at IDEO, served as a Deeper Learning Coach with Envision Learning Partners, and incubated ideas with the Mira Fellowship.

Morgan has also served as principal of an arts-integration, expeditionary learning school, was a founding teacher in Oakland’s New Small Autonomous Schools movement, and recently served on the board of trustees at Design Tech High School.
